  • What is hypnotherapy?
  • Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy that uses guided relaxation, intense focus, and concentration to achieve a heightened state of awareness, often referred to as a trance. In this state, individuals may be more open to suggestions which can help address various issues such as anxiety, stress, phobias, and certain behavioural patterns.
  • What is hypnosis?
    Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility, often accompanied by deep relaxation. It is a process that allows individuals to become more open to suggestions and can be used for therapeutic purposes, such as overcoming anxiety, phobias, and various habits.
  • Can I be made to things against my will under hypnosis?
  • Many people have seen stage hypnosis and a common question is ‘will you make me cluck like a chicken?’! The truth is that hypnosis is in many ways self-hypnosis i.e. the therapist is not taking control of your mind. You cannot be made to do anything against your will during hypnosis.
  • Is hypnosis safe?
  • Hypnosis is a safe and natural state. Many people experience a trance like state without being aware of it, for example, when driving a car on ‘autopilot’ or being so totally immersed in a film that time seems to have passed without us realising.
  • What can hypnotherapy help with?
  • Hypnotherapy can help with many issues such as :-fears & phobias, smoking cessation, weight loss, self-confidence, self-esteem, insomnia, performance coaching, depression, panic attacks, public speaking, pain management and IBS. Although I can help you with all of these things, my focus is primarily on women with stress, anxiety and low self-esteem particularly in relation to the menopause.
  • How many sessions will I need?
  • Sessions may vary from client to client but usually hypnotherapy can work quite quickly so a rough guide would be 4-8 sessions. A simple issue may take less and a more complex issue may take a few more. This can be discussed in the initial consultation.
  • How much does it cost?

  • What if I need to cancel a session?
  • That’s not a problem, however, at least 48 hours notice is required.  You will then be refunded 50% of your fee. Late cancellations or missed sessions will be charged in full.
